Questions riders ask before this trip
Langdale puts you about 10 minutes from Gibsons, but it isn't a downtown ferry stop. Pay the fare at Horseshoe Bay and the return crossing is covered. A reservation is different, so book each direction you want protected.
How early should I arrive for Horseshoe Bay–Langdale?
With a booking in either direction, check in 60 to 30 minutes before departure. Without one, Horseshoe Bay closes sales and check-in 10 minutes before sailing, while Langdale closes at five. Drive-up loading is first come, first served, so arrive well before the cutoff when sailings are busy.

Pay the standard passenger and vehicle fare when you leave Horseshoe Bay. It covers the return, and the fare from Langdale is listed as zero. Reservations only protect the direction and sailing you booked, so reserve the return separately if you need certainty both ways.

Yes, but check first. Langdale lists 347 paid spaces, including 287 long-term spots and a commuter rate, yet its live page can still show none available. Horseshoe Bay is tight too. Don't stake the last useful connection of the day on finding a space without checking both terminals.

Yes. You pay the passenger fare and the bike rides free. Arrive 30 to 60 minutes early, tell check-in you're cycling, walk the bike aboard, and secure it where the crew directs. E-bikes are welcome, but you can't charge one at either terminal or on the ferry.

Not necessarily. BC Ferries keeps some space for drive-up traffic even after the bookable allotment sells out. That gives you a chance, not a guarantee. Check current conditions, get there early, and keep a later sailing workable.

Langdale is about a 10-minute drive from Gibsons. BC Transit, the Sunshine Coast Connector, taxis and local ride-hailing serve the terminal, but options can thin out late. Check the onward timetable before choosing your ferry, especially if you won't have a car.

Yes. During extreme high or low tides, staff at Horseshoe Bay or Langdale may hold a very low vehicle or one with a long rear overhang for a later sailing. Most ordinary cars aren't the issue. Check the tide if yours is modified, unusually low or unusually long.

Open the live Horseshoe Bay–Langdale page and check the correct direction for delays, notices and deck-space estimates. Then check parking and your connecting bus. A sailing shown on the timetable doesn't promise room for your car or a ride after you arrive.
