Questions riders ask before this trip

Eastbourne is a foot-passenger dock with no listed parking, transit or terminal facilities. Bring cash or a prepaid ticket, and call or text the operator at least an hour ahead when your sailing is marked “on request.” Sort out your island pickup or walking route before leaving Langdale.

How early should I arrive for Langdale–Eastbourne?

Aim to reach Langdale 20 to 30 minutes early; check-in and ticket sales close five minutes before departure. For an Eastbourne sailing marked on request, call or text the operator at least one hour ahead with your name, phone number, travel time and pickup location.

How do I pay for the Langdale–Eastbourne ferry?

This route charges a one-way passenger fare. The vessel accepts only Canadian cash or prepaid tickets, so get cash before reaching the dock or buy a ticket book in advance. Terminals accept the other payment methods listed in the current fare guide.

Can I park at Langdale or Eastbourne?

Langdale has paid short- and long-term parking. Eastbourne lists no parking. Leave your vehicle at Langdale and pay for the full stay, or arrange a drop-off at Eastbourne. Do not count on finding an unofficial space near the island dock.

Can I bring a bicycle to Eastbourne?

Yes. BC Ferries says bicycles travel free with a passenger fare, and the route fare table lists stowage as free. Charge an e-bike before reaching the dock. Call the operator ahead of time if you have a cargo bike, trailer or another large cycle because the passenger boat is compact.

Can I take a car to Eastbourne?

No. Eastbourne is a foot-passenger-only dock, and vehicles cannot travel on this service. Park at Langdale if you are coming from the mainland. On Keats Island, arrange a pickup, bring a bicycle or confirm that you can comfortably walk from the dock; no public transportation is listed.

Do I reserve the Eastbourne sailing?

The route is non-bookable, but some Eastbourne stops still require an advance request. When the timetable says “on request,” call or text the operator at least one hour before departure. Check every sailing you plan to use because the boat does not call automatically at every marked request stop.

Does the boat wait for passengers arriving from Horseshoe Bay?

Some Langdale departures wait for the arriving Horseshoe Bay ferry, but BC Ferries does not say that all of them do. Match the exact departures in the current timetable and allow time to reach the small-vessel berth. If Eastbourne is marked on request, make that call separately.
