Questions riders ask before this trip

Keats Landing–Eastbourne is handy when the published sailing fits your day. Both docks can require an advance pickup request, and Eastbourne has no parking or terminal facilities. Confirm the return first, bring cash or a prepaid ticket, and enjoy the rare little island-to-island ride.

How early should I arrive for Keats Landing–Eastbourne?

Some departures at both Keats docks are on request. After that, be at the dock early; there is no staffed concourse to absorb a late arrival. Call or text the operator at least one hour before the scheduled sailing and leave your name, phone number, travel time and pickup location whenever the timetable requires it.

How do I pay between Keats Landing and Eastbourne?

The published route fare is one way, and the operating vessel accepts only cash or prepaid tickets. Carry cash or the correct prepaid ticket before starting the inter-dock trip. Cards are accepted at terminals under the fare guide, but neither Keats dock is a place to rely on full ticket-office facilities.

Can I park at either Keats Island dock?

Keats Landing lists 26 free off-street spaces; Eastbourne lists no parking. If starting at Eastbourne, arrange a drop-off or arrive under your own power instead of searching the narrow dock approach for an unofficial spot. That makes Landing the only official place in this pair to leave a vehicle, subject to space.

Can I take a bicycle between the two Keats docks?

BC Ferries' bicycle guidance says bikes travel free with the passenger fare, and this route lists free stowage. Stormaway IV is small, though, so confirm unusual bikes or trailers with the operator and let crew decide where they are secured. A bike is also useful because neither dock has public transit.

Can a car travel between Keats Landing and Eastbourne?

No. This link carries foot passengers and permitted stowage, not cars. Both ends are passenger-only docks, so reposition a vehicle by the island road. The ferry is a handy shortcut for people, not for the car.

Does every scheduled boat stop at both Keats docks?

Don't assume so. Use the exact departure shown for your dock pair, read any request notation and contact the operator an hour ahead when instructed. Keats Landing and Eastbourne sit in a multi-stop service with Gambier and Langdale, and some island calls are on request.

Is this useful for getting across Keats Island?

It can be, but only when a published sailing connects the two docks at the time you need. Compare the ferry with the island road, then check the return or onward sailing too; saving one walk isn't helpful if it strands the rest of the day. This isn't a turn-up-and-go shuttle.

What services are available at the two docks?

Neither dock lists public transportation, terminal amenities or accessibility options. These are quiet island landings, not miniature staffed ferry terminals. Keats Landing has parking; Eastbourne doesn't. Bring water and weather protection, and arrange mobility help or a ride before you set out.
