Questions riders ask before this trip
East 90th Street–Brooklyn Navy Yard is the full Astoria-line sweep without going downtown: four intermediate landings, three borough shorelines and one boat all the way. It is a handsome commute, but not a quick cross-river hop. Read the direction board, bring something warmer than the avenue suggests, and budget the Yard walk as carefully as the sailing.
How early should I arrive for East 90th Street–Brooklyn Navy Yard?
Be at the landing before the posted departure with your ticket ready. Boarding is first-come, and this is a roughly 40-minute through trip, so missing one is expensive. At the Yard, non-tenants must also allow for the walk through Market @77 from Flushing Avenue.

The current regular fare is $4.50 one way, bought in the NYC Ferry app or at a landing machine. You stay aboard at Astoria, Roosevelt Island, Long Island City and East 34th, so no transfer is needed. The return ride is a new fare.

Do not plan this trip around parking. NYC Ferry says spaces are very limited near most landings and discourages driving. East 90th works better by the M31 or M86 SBS; at the Yard, street and metered spaces outside the campus are not a dedicated ferry lot.

Yes, while the boat's roughly eight-to-ten-bike rack has room. At the Yard, cyclists may ride through the Clinton Avenue entrance or walk a bike through Building 77 from Flushing Avenue. Bikes stay outside on the bow unless they fold to suitcase size.

It is one boat, not nonstop. Toward Brooklyn the Astoria route calls at Astoria, Roosevelt Island, Long Island City and East 34th before the Yard; the reverse follows that sequence backward. Regular weekday and weekend examples run about 40 to 43 minutes. NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ran 40 to 45 minutes during that dated exception.

Use 141 Flushing Avenue and enter through Market @77 at Flushing and Vanderbilt. NYC Ferry describes the path from Building 77 to the landing as accessible and stroller-friendly. The B67 enters the Yard; the B48, B57, B62 and B69 stop outside.

The landing is at East 90th Street and the East River, reached from East End Avenue. NYC Ferry lists the M31 and M86 SBS for the last leg. It is a waterfront stop, not the 4/5/6 station at Lexington Avenue, so include that crosstown distance.

It can be delightful when both ends fit your trip, but compare door-to-door time. Riders repeatedly flag the schedule gap and the walk inside the Yard, while the boat itself is calm working time. Keep a bus or subway fallback for a missed or weather-delayed sailing.
