Questions riders ask before this trip
East 90th Street–Wall Street is the Astoria route end to end: seven landings, three borough shorelines and the better part of an hour on deck. This is not the express downtown, and that is precisely the point for some riders. Bring a layer, read the Astoria queue sign at Pier 11, and treat the long harbor ride as the journey rather than a shortcut.
How early should I arrive for East 90th Street–Wall Street?
Be at the landing before departure with your ticket ready. Boarding is first-come, and this 51-to-56-minute through ride gives a missed boat real consequences. At Pier 11, join the Astoria queue; at East 90th, aim for FDR Drive rather than the inland subway.

The current regular fare is $4.50 one way, bought in the NYC Ferry app or at a landing machine. All five landings between the endpoints are part of one Astoria ride, so stay aboard and use one ticket. The return trip is a new fare.

Do not plan on ferry parking. NYC Ferry says it is very limited near most landings and discourages driving. Use the M31 or M86 SBS uptown and downtown subway, bus, bicycle or foot at Pier 11. Neither dock sits inside a subway station.

Yes, while the roughly eight-to-ten-bike rack has space. A full rack can mean waiting, which matters on this long route. Bikes remain on the bow unless they fold to suitcase size. Both landings have racks, and East 90th lists nearby Citi Bike docks.

The Astoria route calls at Astoria, Roosevelt Island, Long Island City, East 34th Street and Brooklyn Navy Yard. You stay on the same boat at all five. Regular weekday and weekend tables run about 51 to 56 minutes. NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ran 51 to 57 minutes during that dated exception.

No claim that broad would be honest. This is the only one-seat NYC Ferry ride between these exact landings, but it makes five stops and takes almost an hour. Compare the next arrival with the subway door to door; choose the boat when comfort, waterfront access or the view wins.

Look for the Astoria route and confirm East 90th Street is the final stop. Pier 11 serves several NYC Ferry lines, and another boat can leave from the same terminal without travelling uptown. The route label matters more than the borough shown on a casual map.

Pier 11 is near the 2/3 at Wall Street, J/Z at Broad Street, 1 at South Ferry and the M15. East 90th has the M31 and M86 SBS, with N/Q/R trains inland at 86th and Second. Add both waterfront walks.
