Questions riders ask before this trip
Brooklyn Navy Yard–East 34th Street is one clean Astoria-line hop: cranes and brick workshops behind you, Midtown rising across the river. The crossing is easy; the Yard is the part worth learning. Use the proper Flushing Avenue entrance, allow for the walk through the campus, and do not mistake a nearby-looking subway dot for a dockside station.
How early should I arrive for Brooklyn Navy Yard–East 34th Street?
Reach the landing before the posted departure with your ticket ready. Boarding is first-come, and the Navy Yard walk can take longer than the map suggests. Non-tenants enter through Market @77 from Flushing Avenue, so leave time for that path rather than timing the trip from the Yard gate.

The regular fare is currently $4.50 one way. Buy in the NYC Ferry app or at a landing machine and activate for this trip. These are consecutive stops, so no transfer is needed. A later NYC Ferry route change is free within 120 minutes; the return is a separate fare.

NYC Ferry says parking is very limited near most landings, so transit or cycling is the steadier plan. The Yard page notes metered and street spaces outside on Flushing Avenue and nearby streets, not a ferry lot. East 34th has no municipal landing lot and is better by M34 or M15.

Yes, subject to the boat's roughly eight-to-ten-bike limit. Use the Clinton Avenue and Flushing Avenue bike entrance at the Yard, then keep your bike outdoors on the bow unless it folds to suitcase size. A full rack can mean waiting for the next sailing.

Yes. They are consecutive Astoria-route stops in both directions, so you stay on one boat with no intermediate landing. Regular weekday and weekend tables show about 14 to 17 minutes. NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ran 14 to 18 minutes during that dated exception.

Use 141 Flushing Avenue and walk through Market @77, at Flushing and Vanderbilt. NYC Ferry says the path from Building 77 to the landing is fully accessible and stroller-friendly. Do not aim for an industrial waterfront gate that may not admit you.

The B67 enters the Yard and stops on Navy Yard Drive between Dock 72 and Building 77. NYC Ferry also lists the B48, B57, B62 and B69 outside the Yard. Check the final walking path, because the outside stops are not on the gangway.

It is on the river at East 35th Street and FDR Drive, not at a subway entrance on East 34th. The M34 reaches the terminal, the M15 runs on First Avenue, and the 4/6 are back at 33rd and Park. Add that crosstown distance to your commute.
