Questions riders ask before this trip

Roosevelt Island–Wall Street is a four-stop run from the island's quiet east shore to Lower Manhattan's busiest ferry terminal. Long Island City, East 34th and Brooklyn Navy Yard fill the middle, so this is a harbor ride rather than an express downtown. The calm deck time is real; so is the cross-island walk before it.

How early should I arrive for Roosevelt Island–Wall Street?

Arrive before departure with your ticket ready. Boarding is first-come, and missing this 37-to-44-minute ride can upset a downtown appointment. On Roosevelt Island, aim for East Main Street; at Pier 11, find the Astoria queue among several route signs.

Does the Roosevelt Island–Wall Street fare include the tram or subway?

No. The current NYC Ferry fare is $4.50 one way, sold in the app and at landing machines. Long Island City, East 34th and Brooklyn Navy Yard are part of the same ferry ride. The tram, subway and buses use the separate MTA fare system.

Can I park at Roosevelt Island or Pier 11?

Parking is the difficult option at both ends. NYC Ferry says it is very limited near most docks and discourages driving. Use the RIOC bus or Q102 on Roosevelt Island and downtown subway, bus, bicycle or walking at Pier 11.

Can I bring a bicycle from Roosevelt Island to Wall Street?

Yes, while the boat's roughly eight-to-ten-bike rack has room. Bikes remain on the bow unless they fold to suitcase size. Both landings have racks, but a full ferry rack can mean waiting, so leave margin when a timed downtown connection matters.

Is Roosevelt Island–Wall Street a direct ferry?

It is one boat with Long Island City, East 34th Street and Brooklyn Navy Yard between. Regular weekday and weekend examples run roughly 37 to 44 minutes. NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ran 37 to 45 minutes during that dated exception. Stay aboard at all three stops.

Where does the ferry land on Roosevelt Island?

The dock is on East Main Street on the east shore. The F train and tram are on the west side, so neither is a pier-side connection. Use the RIOC bus or allow for the cross-island walk, especially with luggage.

Which queue should I use at Pier 11?

Choose the Astoria route and confirm Roosevelt Island appears in the uptown stop sequence. Pier 11 serves several NYC Ferry lines, and another departure from the same terminal may skip the island. Read the route sign before joining the line.

Is the Roosevelt Island landing accessible?

NYC Ferry lists a covered waiting area, restaurants and bike racks. Its Access-A-Ride pickup and drop-off point is 860 East Road. Share that exact address rather than the general East Main Street label when arranging an accessible connection.
