Questions riders ask before this trip

Wall Street–Long Island City is a 31-to-37-minute Astoria-line loop through Brooklyn Navy Yard and East 34th Street. The Manhattan detour looks peculiar on a map and feels perfectly natural from the deck. This is a strong waterfront-to-waterfront ride, provided you choose the Astoria queue downtown and do not confuse Gantry Plaza with Court Square.

How early should I arrive for Wall Street–Long Island City?

Be at the landing before departure with your ticket ready. Boarding is first-come. At Pier 11, use the Astoria queue; in Long Island City, navigate to 46th Avenue and Center Boulevard. Missing a boat costs more than the 31-to-37-minute ride.

How much is the Wall Street–Long Island City ferry?

The current regular fare is $4.50 one way, sold in the NYC Ferry app and at landing machines. Brooklyn Navy Yard and East 34th Street are intermediate stops, not transfers, so remain aboard with one ticket. The return ride is separate.

Can I park at Pier 11 or Long Island City?

Do not make parking the plan. NYC Ferry says it is very limited near most docks and discourages driving. Pier 11 works by downtown subway, bus, bicycle or foot; Long Island City works by Q102/Q103, Citi Bike or a walk from the F, 7, E or M.

Can I bring a bicycle from Wall Street to Long Island City?

Yes, subject to the roughly eight-to-ten-bike rack limit. Bikes remain outside on the bow unless they fold to suitcase size. Both landings have racks, and Long Island City has nearby Citi Bike docks if renting after arrival is simpler.

Is Wall Street–Long Island City a direct ferry?

It is one boat with Brooklyn Navy Yard and East 34th Street in between. Regular weekday and weekend examples run roughly 31 to 37 minutes. NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ran 31 to 38 minutes during that dated exception. Stay aboard at both stops.

Where is the Long Island City ferry landing?

The dock is at 46th Avenue and Center Boulevard beside Gantry Plaza, not at Court Square. The F at 21st Street and the 7, E and M at Court Square all require a walk. Plan to the waterfront address.

Which queue should I use at Pier 11?

Choose Astoria and confirm Brooklyn Navy Yard, East 34th and Long Island City appear in sequence. Pier 11 serves multiple routes, and a different Queens-bound ferry may not stop where you need. The route label is the reliable clue.

Is the ferry better than the subway downtown to Long Island City?

For waterfront destinations, the one-seat ride can be wonderfully useful. For Court Square or another inland address, the ferry's wait, Brooklyn sweep and final walk may lose. Compare door-to-door arrival and remember there is no included MTA transfer.
