Questions riders ask before this trip

Greenpoint–North Williamsburg is an eight-minute waterfront hop when the East River Local is running. It disappears when the line splits into A and B: Greenpoint belongs to B, while North Williamsburg belongs to A. That split ran all day under NYC Ferry's dated September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot schedule.

How early should I arrive for Greenpoint–North Williamsburg?

Arrive before the posted departure with your ticket ready. Boarding is first-come. More importantly, confirm the schedule shows an East River Local serving both stops. A and B sailings split the pair onto different boats, so standing at the pier without checking the letter can waste an entire headway.

How do I pay for Greenpoint–North Williamsburg?

The current regular fare is $4.50 one way, bought in the app or at a landing machine. On a Local sailing it is one ride with no transfer. If the line is split, do not improvise a same-route transfer: choose another local trip or use street transit instead.

Is there ferry parking in Greenpoint or North Williamsburg?

No useful dedicated parking plan. NYC Ferry says parking is very limited near most landings and discourages driving. Greenpoint has the B24, B32, B43, B62 and the G inland; North Williamsburg has the B32, B62, Q59 and the L at Bedford Avenue.

Can I take a bike between the two Brooklyn landings?

Yes if the ferry's roughly eight-to-ten-bike rack still has room. Bikes stay outside unless they fold to suitcase size. Both docks list bike racks and Citi Bike nearby; for this short waterfront trip, the protected street network may be faster when the Local ferry timing is poor.

Is Greenpoint–North Williamsburg always a direct ferry?

No. Regular East River Local sailings take about 8 minutes. NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot schedule ran A and B as separate routes all day, so this cross-branch pair had no direct boat during that dated exception. Check the live pattern before walking to either pier.

Where are the two landings?

Greenpoint is at 10 India Street. North Williamsburg is at North 6th Street and Kent Avenue. Neither dock is the neighborhood's subway station: the G is inland at Greenpoint Avenue, and the L is inland at Bedford Avenue and North 7th Street.

Can I stay aboard an A or B boat and reach the other stop later?

No useful loop connects them. A skips Greenpoint and B skips North Williamsburg. Wall Street, DUMBO and East 34th are shared stops, but detouring through one would turn an eight-minute local hop into a transfer problem. Wait for a Local or use the street network.

Which landing is better for Bedford Avenue?

North Williamsburg. Its dock at North 6th and Kent is the closer ferry stop for the Bedford Avenue corridor and L train. Greenpoint's India Street landing suits the northern waterfront and G-train area. Pick by the final walk, not by the neighborhood label alone.
