Questions riders ask before this trip
Greenpoint–Hunters Point South is an eight-minute hop when the complete East River Local is running. The A/B split puts Greenpoint on B and Hunters Point South on A, with no direct boat between them. That split ran all day under NYC Ferry's dated September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot schedule.
How early should I arrive for Greenpoint–Hunters Point South?
Be at the landing before departure with your ticket ready, and confirm the sailing is East River Local. Greenpoint is at 10 India Street; Hunters Point South is at 54th Avenue and 2nd Street. A and B sailings separate these stops rather than linking them.

The current regular NYC Ferry fare is $4.50 one way, sold in the app and at landing machines. A Local sailing is one ride. If only split service is running, do not count on a same-route transfer; compare the Pulaski Bridge, G train or local buses instead.

Not parking worth planning a trip around. NYC Ferry says spaces are very limited near most landings and discourages driving. Greenpoint has the G and several buses inland; Hunters Point South has the Q103, 7 train and LIRR, each a walk from the waterfront.

Yes if the ferry's roughly eight-to-ten-bike rack has room. Both landings list racks and Citi Bike nearby. For this particular pair, the Pulaski Bridge and waterfront bike routes are useful fallbacks when Local ferry timing does not suit or the rack is full.

Only on East River Local trips, when the regular ride is about 8 minutes. NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot schedule ran separate A and B routes all day, so this cross-branch pair had no direct boat during that dated exception. Matching times in separate columns are different boats, not a connection.

It is at 54th Avenue and 2nd Street. NYC Ferry lists the Q103 on Vernon Boulevard, the 7 around 50th Avenue and Vernon, and the LIRR inland. Its Access-A-Ride point is 5257 Center Boulevard, which is clearer than the neighborhood name alone.

Often, yes, if the Local ferry wait is long. The bridge directly connects Greenpoint and Long Island City and avoids the A/B timetable puzzle. The ferry is gentler and accessible at the landings; the bridge gives you control over departure time. Compare the complete wait, not just eight minutes aboard.

No. East River A skips Greenpoint, and East River B skips Hunters Point South. Both meet common stops at East 34th, DUMBO and Wall Street, but that does not create a sensible same-line transfer for this short trip. Use a Local sailing or choose land transport.
