Questions riders ask before this trip

North Williamsburg–Hunters Point South is the East River A branch at its most useful: a short one-seat link between North 6th Street and the Gantry Plaza waterfront. Regular compatible trips span about 9 to 16 minutes. The dated September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable kept it on A at about 9 to 13 minutes.

How early should I arrive for North Williamsburg–Hunters Point South?

Arrive before departure with your ticket ready. Boarding is first-come. North Williamsburg is at North 6th and Kent; Hunters Point South is at 54th Avenue and 2nd Street. Choose East River A or Local. B skips both North Williamsburg and Hunters Point South.

How do I pay for North Williamsburg–Hunters Point South?

The current regular fare is $4.50 one way, sold in the app and at landing machines. It is one ferry ride with no transfer. The return needs another fare, and any subway, LIRR or bus connection uses the separate MTA payment system.

Is there parking at either ferry landing?

Not parking worth building the trip around. NYC Ferry says it is very limited near most landings and discourages driving. North Williamsburg has buses and the inland L; Hunters Point South lists the Q103, 7 train and LIRR, each away from the gangway.

Can I bring a bicycle between Williamsburg and Hunters Point?

Yes if the outdoor rack has space. NYC Ferry says vessels generally hold about eight to ten bicycles, and a full rack can mean waiting. Both landings have racks and Citi Bike nearby, making a rental after the crossing a useful backup.

Is North Williamsburg–Hunters Point South direct?

Yes on East River A and Local trips. Regular compatible rows run about 9 to 16 minutes. NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable kept both stops on A and scheduled about 9 to 13 minutes during that dated exception. East River B is not your boat.

Where is the Hunters Point South ferry landing?

At 54th Avenue and 2nd Street on the Long Island City waterfront. NYC Ferry lists the Q103, 7 train and LIRR inland, plus 5257 Center Boulevard for Access-A-Ride. Navigate to the landing address rather than Court Square.

Is this the same landing as Long Island City on the Astoria route?

No. Hunters Point South is an East River landing near 54th Avenue. The Astoria route's Long Island City stop is farther north at 46th Avenue beside Gantry Plaza. Similar neighborhood labels do not make the docks interchangeable.

Is the ferry useful for Court Square?

It can be pleasant, but Court Square is not pier-side. Add the walk from Center Boulevard and compare the next boat with the subway or bus. The ferry is strongest when the Queens destination is near the waterfront park rather than deep inland.
