Questions riders ask before this trip

DUMBO–Wall Street is the East River line's last Brooklyn-to-Manhattan hop, shared by A, B and Local service. Weekday rows show about 4 to 9 minutes. The current official weekend table repeats identical DUMBO and Pier 11 times, an obvious schedule-display defect, so use the live app for that day's arrival.

How early should I arrive for DUMBO–Wall Street?

Reach the dock before departure with your ticket ready. Boarding is first-come. DUMBO is at Old Fulton and Furman; Pier 11 is at Gouverneur Lane and South Street. All East River patterns serve both, but Pier 11 has several route queues.

How much is DUMBO–Wall Street by ferry?

The current regular fare is $4.50 one way, bought in the app or at a landing machine. The two stops are consecutive on the East River line, so no transfer is needed. A return trip needs another fare.

Can I park near DUMBO or Pier 11?

Do not build the trip around parking. NYC Ferry says it is very limited near most landings and discourages driving. DUMBO has the B25 and inland subway options. Pier 11 is better reached by Lower Manhattan subway, bus, bicycle or walking.

Can I take a bicycle from DUMBO to Wall Street?

Yes if the outdoor rack has space. NYC Ferry says boats generally hold about eight to ten bicycles, and a full rack can mean waiting. Both landings list bike racks and Citi Bike, useful for a crossing this short.

Is DUMBO–Wall Street nonstop?

Yes. DUMBO and Pier 11 are consecutive on East River A, B and Local sailings. Valid current weekday examples run about 4 to 9 minutes. The published weekend table currently repeats the same time at both docks, so confirm the live arrival rather than believing a zero-minute crossing.

Why does the official weekend table show the same time twice?

The current page and downloadable schedule repeat identical DUMBO and Pier 11 times in the weekend Wall Street direction. That cannot describe an actual crossing. Treat it as a display defect and use NYC Ferry's app, text service or crew information for the live arrival.

Where do I queue at Pier 11?

Use the signed East River queue and confirm DUMBO is the previous or next stop for your direction. Pier 11 serves several NYC Ferry routes; the nearest boat or shortest line may belong to a service that does not call at DUMBO.

Is the ferry better than walking the Brooklyn Bridge?

They are different trips. The ferry is a brief water crossing when its schedule fits; the bridge is a longer but schedule-free walk with its own views. Choose by mobility, weather, luggage and whether the river ride or the promenade is the point.
