Do not plan around ferry parking. NYC Ferry says it is very limited near most landings and discourages driving. Hunters Point South lists the Q103, 7 and LIRR inland. Pier 11 has downtown transit but still requires a walk to South Street.

Yes while the outdoor rack has room. NYC Ferry says boats generally hold about eight to ten bicycles, and a full rack can mean waiting. Both docks list bike racks and Citi Bike. Arrive early during commuter periods.

Treat it as first-come transit with a schedule, not a reserved seat. Check alerts, arrive before departure and keep a backup if missing one boat would be costly. It works beautifully when both ends are near the water.
