Questions riders ask before this trip
South Williamsburg–Wall Street is East River B at its most commute-shaped: Kent Avenue, DUMBO, then Pier 11. Local boats follow those same final two calls. Current compatible trips span about 15 to 21 minutes. It is a useful downtown ride when the waterfront walks suit both ends.
How early should I arrive for South Williamsburg–Wall Street?
Be at the landing before departure with an activated ticket ready. Boarding is first-come. South Williamsburg is at 440 Kent Avenue. At Pier 11, join the signed East River queue because several routes share the terminal. Choose B or Local.

The current regular fare is $4.50 one way, bought in the app or at a machine. DUMBO and any Local stop remain part of one ride. The return needs another fare; buses and subways use the separate MTA system.

Do not make parking the plan. NYC Ferry says it is very limited near most landings and discourages driving. South Williamsburg has the B32, B62, Q59 and inland J/M/Z. Pier 11 connects to downtown transit after a waterfront walk.

Yes if the outdoor rack has space. NYC Ferry says boats generally accommodate about eight to ten bicycles, and a full rack can leave another bike behind. Both terminals list racks and Citi Bike, useful during crowded commute periods.

It is one boat on East River B and Local sailings. Both call at DUMBO before Pier 11. Across current compatible weekday and weekend rows, examples run about 15 to 21 minutes. A skips South Williamsburg.

At 440 Kent Avenue near Division Avenue. NYC Ferry lists the B62 near Division and Berry and the B32 or Q59 near Broadway and Kent. The J/M/Z at Marcy Avenue is inland, so count the walk.

Yes. Pier 11 handles several NYC Ferry services. Follow East River signs and confirm South Williamsburg is listed. A South Brooklyn or Astoria boat may leave the same terminal without serving your Kent Avenue landing.

Sometimes, especially for waterfront destinations. The inland walk to Marcy Avenue and a Manhattan transfer can make the ferry attractive, but a long headway or full boat can erase the advantage. Compare door-to-door arrival, not just time aboard.
