Questions riders ask before this trip

Soundview–Sunset Park/BAT is a long one-seat sweep from the Bronx through four Manhattan calls to Brooklyn Army Terminal. The dated holiday table ran 75 to 78 minutes, including the Pier 11 dwell. It makes sense when the waterfront endpoints suit you; otherwise, the bus links and the long ride deserve an honest door-to-door comparison.

How early should I arrive for the Soundview–Sunset Park ferry?

Reach Soundview before departure with your ticket ready and confirm the Rockaway–Soundview stop list reaches Sunset Park/BAT. Boarding is first-come, and some late trips are partial. Missing a full-line sailing matters on a trip this long.

What does Soundview–Sunset Park cost?

The regular NYC Ferry fare is currently $4.50 one way, bought in the app or at a landing machine. All intermediate calls stay on the same boat. A return trip needs another fare because round trips do not qualify for free transfers.

Which end is better for parking?

Sunset Park/BAT is the practical car end. NYC Ferry lists free public parking on Pier 4, though special events can restrict it. Soundview has no operator lot and is better reached by the Bx27, Bx39, bicycle or a planned drop-off.

Can I bring a bicycle from Soundview to Brooklyn Army Terminal?

Yes, if rack space remains. NYC Ferry vessels generally take about eight to ten bicycles and may stop bike boarding when full. Both landings list bike racks, but a long beach-bound sailing can attract more bikes than the rack holds.

What stops are between Soundview and Sunset Park?

Toward Brooklyn, the boat calls at East 90th, East 34th, Stuyvesant Cove and Wall Street/Pier 11 before Sunset Park/BAT. Stay aboard throughout. Pier 11 has separate arrival and departure times, so its downtown dwell is part of the ride.

How long is the ferry from Soundview to Sunset Park?

NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ranged from 75 to 78 minutes across both directions. That was a dated holiday pattern and includes the Pier 11 dwell, so check the current paired arrival for your sailing.

How do I reach the subway from Brooklyn Army Terminal?

NYC Ferry describes the N/R at 59th Street as a short walk east along 58th Street from the waterfront. The B11 stops at 58th and First Avenue, and the B37 at 58th and Third. It is not a same-platform connection, so budget the walk.

Which buses reach the Soundview landing?

NYC Ferry lists the Bx27 at the ferry landing and the Bx39 at Cornell Avenue and Soundview Avenue. Access-A-Ride uses 9 Soundview Avenue. Check the bus connection before starting a trip with more than an hour already on the water.
