Questions riders ask before this trip

Soundview–East 34th is the practical Bronx-to-Midtown stretch of Rockaway–Soundview: East 90th is the only stop in between, and the dated holiday table ran 31 to 37 minutes. Neither dock drops you at a subway turnstile, so the trip works best when the river leg and the last bus or walk are planned together.

How early should I arrive for the Soundview–East 34th ferry?

Be there before the listed departure with your ticket ready. Boarding is first-come, and Rockaway–Soundview is not the only route using East 34th. Check both route and direction before joining a queue; the wrong boat can turn a simple Midtown trip into a tour.

How much is the ferry from Soundview to East 34th?

The regular NYC Ferry fare is currently $4.50 one way. Buy in the app or at a machine before boarding. This pair is one seat, so there is no transfer to activate; a ride back needs another fare.

Is there useful parking at Soundview or East 34th Street?

Neither landing has an NYC Ferry lot to plan around. The operator says parking is very limited near most docks. Use the Bx27 or Bx39 at Soundview and the M34 or M15 at East 34th, or arrange a drop-off instead of gambling on curb space.

Can I take a bicycle from Soundview to East 34th?

Yes, while rack space lasts. NYC Ferry vessels usually take about eight to ten bicycles, and a full rack can leave the next bike behind. Keep it outside on the bow unless it folds to suitcase size.

What stops are between Soundview and East 34th?

East 90th Street is the only intermediate call. Stay aboard there; no transfer is needed. Toward Manhattan, East 34th comes before Stuyvesant Cove and Pier 11. Northbound, Soundview comes after East 90th and before Ferry Point Park.

How long is the ferry from Soundview to East 34th?

NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot table ranged from 31 to 37 minutes across both directions. That was a dated exception with roughly 45-minute service, so use the live arrival paired with your boat on another date.

Where exactly is the East 34th Street landing?

The ferry is on the East River at East 35th Street and FDR Drive, not beside Penn Station or the subway. NYC Ferry lists the M34 at the terminal, the M15 on First Avenue, and the 4/6 near 33rd Street and Park Avenue. Budget the inland leg.

Does the Sukkot timetable run all year?

No. NYC Ferry published the modified table only for September 28 through October 2, 2026, with Rockaway–Soundview stops about every 45 minutes. Treat it as a dated record, then check the live route page for the schedule operating now.
