Questions riders ask before this trip
East 90th–Wall Street on Rockaway–Soundview is the east-side commuter sweep: East 34th and Stuyvesant Cove break up a 32-to-41-minute dated holiday ride. It is faster and simpler than the Astoria route's Queens and Brooklyn arc, but Pier 11 has several queues. Read the route name before joining one.
How early should I arrive for the East 90th–Wall Street ferry?
Arrive before the posted departure with your ticket ready and join the Rockaway–Soundview queue. East 90th and Pier 11 both serve multiple routes. Boarding is first-come, and a boat showing Wall Street is not enough information if you care about the stop pattern.

The regular NYC Ferry fare is currently $4.50 one way. Buy in the app or at a landing machine. This is one boat; a return trip needs another fare and does not qualify as a free transfer.

Neither is a sensible parking destination. NYC Ferry says parking is very limited near most landings. Use the M31 or M86-SBS for East 90th and downtown subway, bus, bicycle or walking connections for Pier 11.

Yes, while rack space lasts. NYC Ferry vessels generally take about eight to ten bikes and can stop bike boarding when full. Both landings list racks and nearby Citi Bike docks, but commuter sailings can fill the small onboard rack.

The boat calls at East 34th Street and Stuyvesant Cove before arriving at Wall Street/Pier 11. Stay aboard at both. In the reverse direction, Pier 11 has separate departure and arrival columns, so use the departure time rather than the earlier arrival dwell.

NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ranged from 32 to 41 minutes across both directions. That was a dated holiday pattern, so check the current paired arrival rather than carrying the range forward forever.

It is usually the cleaner stop pattern: Rockaway–Soundview uses East 34th and Stuyvesant Cove, while Astoria arcs through Queens and Brooklyn Navy Yard. Compare the actual next arrivals, because frequency can matter more than minutes aboard.

NYC Ferry lists the 1 at South Ferry, 2/3 near Pine and William, J/Z near Broad Street, plus buses on Water Street. Pier 11 also has a ticket office and covered waiting area. The subway still requires a short downtown walk.
