Questions riders ask before this trip
East 90th–Rockaway is the long one-seat version of a beach trip: Manhattan's east-side stops, Pier 11 and Sunset Park all pass before Beach 108th Street. The dated holiday table ran 95 to 102 minutes. Pack for a real journey, check the final return boat, and decide whether the view is worth nearly two hours before boarding.
How early should I arrive for the East 90th–Rockaway ferry?
Get to East 90th before departure with your ticket ready and confirm the stop list reaches Rockaway. Boarding is first-come, and beach-bound boats can be busy with bicycles and day-trip gear. Missing this one is not a minor delay on a route this long.

No. The regular NYC Ferry fare is currently $4.50 one way even for the full ride. Buy in the app or at a machine. A return journey is another fare; round trips do not qualify for the free-transfer rule.

East 90th has no operator lot and parking is very limited. NYC Ferry does not list ferry parking at Rockaway either, so use the Q22, A/S train connection, bicycle or a drop-off. If you need guaranteed parking, do not invent it from beach-area curb space.

Yes, if the onboard rack has room. NYC Ferry generally carries about eight to ten bicycles and may stop accepting them when full. Rockaway has no Citi Bike listed nearby, so a personal bike is useful, but a sunny beach boat can fill the rack first.

Yes on a full Rockaway–Soundview run. The boat calls at East 34th, Stuyvesant Cove, Pier 11 and Sunset Park/BAT before Rockaway. No transfer is needed, but late partial trips may not cover the full line, so verify every stop on your chosen sailing.

NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ranged from 95 to 102 minutes across both directions. That was a dated holiday pattern; use the live paired arrival and check the final return departure for your actual date.

The ferry lands at Beach 108th Street and Beach Channel Drive. NYC Ferry lists the Q22 two blocks south and the A/S trains near Beach 105th Street. The operator also posts a shuttle schedule, but warns that shuttle capacity is significantly limited.

Check the live ferry and shuttle times before leaving the landing. The full ride is long, later trips can be partial, and the Rockaway shuttle may fill. Keep enough time to walk back from the beach and board the specific boat that serves East 90th.
