Questions riders ask before this trip

Stuyvesant Cove–Rockaway is a long one-seat beach run through Pier 11 and Brooklyn Army Terminal. The dated holiday table took 74 to 81 minutes. That is plenty of river and harbor for one fare, but it also makes the return boat, shuttle capacity and late partial trips worth checking before you leave Manhattan.

How early should I arrive for the Stuyvesant Cove–Rockaway ferry?

Be at Stuyvesant Cove before departure with your ticket ready and confirm Rockaway appears in the stop list. Boarding is first-come, beach-bound sailings can be busy, and some late trips are partial. Missing this boat is a meaningful delay on a long route.

Does the long Stuyvesant Cove–Rockaway ride cost more?

No. The regular NYC Ferry fare is currently $4.50 one way, even for this long ride. Buy in the app or at a landing machine. A trip back needs another fare because round trips do not qualify for free transfers.

Can I park at Stuyvesant Cove or Rockaway?

Do not plan around ferry parking at either end. Stuyvesant Cove has no operator lot, and NYC Ferry does not list a ferry lot at Rockaway. Use the M9 or M23-SBS in Manhattan and the Q22, A/S train connection, bicycle or drop-off at Rockaway.

Can I bring a bicycle from Stuyvesant Cove to Rockaway?

Yes, if the rack has room. NYC Ferry vessels generally carry about eight to ten bicycles and may stop bike boarding when full. Rockaway has no Citi Bike listed nearby, so a personal bike is useful, but sunny beach sailings can fill the rack early.

Is Stuyvesant Cove–Rockaway really one boat?

Yes on a full Rockaway–Soundview run. The boat calls at Wall Street/Pier 11 and Sunset Park/BAT before Rockaway. Stay aboard at both stops. Check the live stop list because late partial trips may end before the whole line is served.

How long is the ferry from Stuyvesant Cove to Rockaway?

NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ranged from 74 to 81 minutes across both directions. That was a dated holiday pattern, so use the live paired arrival and check the final return for your actual date.

How do I reach the beach from the Rockaway landing?

The ferry lands at Beach 108th Street and Beach Channel Drive. NYC Ferry lists the Q22 two blocks south and the A/S trains near Beach 105th Street. The operator also posts a shuttle schedule, but warns that shuttle capacity is significantly limited.

What should I check before returning to Stuyvesant Cove?

Check both ferry and shuttle times before leaving the landing. The full ride is long, later sailings can be partial, and the Rockaway shuttle may fill. Board the specific return boat whose stop list includes Stuyvesant Cove, not merely one heading toward Manhattan.
