Questions riders ask before this trip
East 34th–Rockaway is a long one-seat beach run down Manhattan's east side, through Pier 11 and Sunset Park, then across Jamaica Bay. The dated holiday table ranged from 81 to 90 minutes. Treat it as a journey, not a quick hop: check the final return, pack for the ride and let the skyline earn the extra time.
How early should I arrive for the East 34th–Rockaway ferry?
Be at East 34th before departure with your ticket ready and confirm Rockaway appears in the stop list. Boarding is first-come, beach-bound boats can be busy, and some late trips are partial. Missing this sailing is a meaningful delay on an hour-plus route.

No. The regular NYC Ferry fare is currently $4.50 one way, even for the full ride. Buy in the app or at a landing machine. A trip back needs another fare because round trips do not qualify for free transfers.

Do not plan around ferry parking at either end. NYC Ferry says parking is very limited near most landings and does not list a ferry lot at Rockaway. Use the M34 or M15 at East 34th and the Q22, A/S train connection, bicycle or drop-off at Rockaway.

Yes, if the rack has room. NYC Ferry vessels generally carry about eight to ten bicycles and may stop bike boarding when full. Rockaway has no Citi Bike listed nearby, so a personal bike is useful, but sunny beach sailings can fill the rack early.

Yes on a full Rockaway–Soundview run. The boat calls at Stuyvesant Cove, Wall Street/Pier 11 and Sunset Park/BAT before Rockaway. Stay aboard at each stop. Check the live stop list because late partial trips may end before the whole line is served.

NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ranged from 81 to 90 minutes across both directions. That was a dated holiday pattern, so use the arrival paired with your sailing and check the final return for your actual date.

The ferry lands at Beach 108th Street and Beach Channel Drive. NYC Ferry lists the Q22 two blocks south and the A/S trains near Beach 105th Street. The operator also posts a shuttle schedule, but warns that shuttle capacity is significantly limited.

Check both the ferry and shuttle times before leaving the landing. The full ride is long, later sailings can be partial, and the shuttle may fill. Keep enough time to walk back from the beach and board the specific boat whose stop list includes East 34th.
