Questions riders ask before this trip

Wall Street–Rockaway is the long direct harbor run through Sunset Park/BAT. The dated holiday table took 55 to 60 minutes. It is one of the city's great boat rides, but first-come boarding, beach crowds and the limited-capacity Rockaway shuttle make the return timetable as important as the outbound view.

How early should I arrive for Wall Street–Rockaway?

Reach Pier 11 before departure with your ticket ready and join the Rockaway–Soundview queue. Boarding is first-come, and beach-bound boats can draw a crowd. Check the last return before leaving Manhattan.

What does Wall Street–Rockaway cost?

The regular NYC Ferry fare is currently $4.50 one way, bought in the app or at a landing machine. Sunset Park/BAT is an intermediate call on the same boat. A return trip needs another fare because round trips do not qualify for free transfers.

Can I park at Pier 11 or Rockaway?

Pier 11 is not a sensible parking destination; use downtown subway, bus, bicycle or walking. At Rockaway, do not assume dedicated ferry parking. NYC Ferry says parking is limited near most landings, and beach-season rules can change.

Can I bring a bicycle between Wall Street and Rockaway?

Yes, while rack space lasts. NYC Ferry vessels generally hold about eight to ten bicycles and may stop accepting them when full. Busy beach departures can fill the rack, so arrive early and keep a backup plan.

Is Wall Street–Rockaway nonstop?

No, but it is one boat. Rockaway–Soundview calls at Sunset Park/BAT between Pier 11 and Rockaway. Stay aboard there; no transfer is needed.

How long is the ferry from Wall Street to Rockaway?

NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ranged from 55 to 60 minutes across every compatible row. That was a dated holiday pattern, so use the live paired arrival for another date.

How does the Rockaway shuttle work?

NYC Ferry lists a free shuttle connecting the landing with local beach and transit stops, but capacity is limited and patterns can change seasonally. Check the current shuttle map rather than treating it as a guaranteed timed connection.

Which subway stations are near Pier 11?

NYC Ferry lists the 2/3 at Wall Street, J/Z at Broad Street and 1 at South Ferry. None is at the gangway, so include the East River esplanade walk in your arrival time.
