Questions riders ask before this trip

Corlears Hook–Sunset Park/BAT is a long one-seat waterfront run from the Lower East Side to Brooklyn Army Terminal. The dated holiday table took 42 to 44 minutes, with Pier 11, Atlantic Avenue and Red Hook in between. The ferry saves a string of land transfers, but neither frequency nor the walk into Corlears Hook rewards a casual arrival.

How early should I arrive for Corlears Hook–Sunset Park/BAT?

Be at the landing before departure with your ticket ready and confirm that the South Brooklyn trip continues to Sunset Park/BAT. Boarding is first-come, and some patterns end before Brooklyn Army Terminal. Corlears Hook also takes a real walk through the waterfront park, so do not use the map pin as your arrival time.

What does Corlears Hook–Sunset Park/BAT cost?

The regular NYC Ferry fare is currently $4.50 one way, bought in the app or at a landing machine. Pier 11, Atlantic Avenue and Red Hook are intermediate calls on the same boat. A trip back needs another fare because round trips do not qualify as free transfers.

Which end is better for parking?

Sunset Park/BAT is the only practical car end. NYC Ferry lists free public parking on Pier 4, although events may restrict it. Corlears Hook has no dependable ferry lot; the operator says parking is very limited near most landings and recommends reaching them without a car.

Can I bring a bicycle between Corlears Hook and Brooklyn Army Terminal?

Yes, while rack space lasts. NYC Ferry boats generally hold about eight to ten bicycles and may stop accepting them when full. This pair suits a bike well because both landings connect to waterfront riding, but the rack is not a reservation.

What stops are between Corlears Hook and Sunset Park/BAT?

The one-seat South Brooklyn run calls at Wall Street/Pier 11, Atlantic Avenue/BBP Pier 6 and Red Hook/Atlantic Basin. Stay aboard at all three. Check that BAT appears in the live stop list because shorter and special-day patterns can turn back earlier.

How long is the ferry from Corlears Hook to Sunset Park/BAT?

NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ranged from 42 to 44 minutes across every row serving both endpoints. That was a dated holiday pattern, so use the current paired departure and arrival for another date.

How do I reach Corlears Hook from the Lower East Side?

The landing is south of the East River Park amphitheater. NYC Ferry lists the M22 and M14A at Cherry and Jackson streets, the M21 at Grand Street and FDR Drive, and nearby Citi Bike docks. There is no subway entrance at the gangway.

How do I reach transit from Brooklyn Army Terminal?

NYC Ferry describes the N/R at 59th Street as a walk east along 58th Street. The B11 stops at 58th and First Avenue, and the B37 at 58th and Third. None is a same-platform connection, so include that land-side leg in the trip.
