Questions riders ask before this trip

Sunset Park/BAT–East 34th is the long South Brooklyn through ride: Brooklyn Army Terminal to Midtown with Red Hook, Atlantic Avenue, Pier 11 and Corlears Hook in between. The dated holiday table ran 51 to 56 minutes. It is a useful one-seat trip when the extension is running, not a frequent shuttle to assume on sight.

How early should I arrive for Sunset Park/BAT–East 34th?

Reach the landing before departure with your ticket ready and confirm that the South Brooklyn trip serves both endpoints. Boarding is first-come, and not every pattern reaches BAT. At East 34th, check the route label because several NYC Ferry services share the terminal.

What does Sunset Park/BAT–East 34th cost?

The regular NYC Ferry fare is currently $4.50 one way, bought in the app or at a landing machine. All intermediate calls are on the same boat. A trip back needs another fare because round trips do not qualify for free transfers.

Which end is better for parking?

Sunset Park/BAT is the practical car end. NYC Ferry lists free public parking on Pier 4, though events can restrict it. East 34th has no dependable ferry lot; use the M34, M15, bicycle, walking or drop-off there.

Can I bring a bicycle between BAT and East 34th?

Yes, while the rack has room. NYC Ferry boats generally hold about eight to ten bicycles and may stop bike boarding when full. Both ends connect to waterfront cycling, but a full rack can undo the convenience of this long one-seat ride.
