Questions riders ask before this trip
Sunset Park/BAT–Bay Ridge is South Brooklyn's short southern link: consecutive waterfront stops and 5 to 10 minutes on the dated holiday table. The sailing is simple; the useful planning is on land, with free parking at BAT and a bus or substantial walk between the Bay Ridge pier and the R train.
How early should I arrive for Sunset Park/BAT–Bay Ridge?
Be at the landing before departure with your ticket ready and confirm that Bay Ridge appears in the live stop list. Boarding is first-come, and the southern extension does not run on every pattern. Leave margin for the walk across Brooklyn Army Terminal or from inland Bay Ridge.

The regular NYC Ferry fare is currently $4.50 one way, bought in the app or at a landing machine. These are consecutive stops with no transfer. A return trip needs another fare because round trips do not qualify as free transfers.

BAT is the better option. NYC Ferry lists free public parking on Pier 4, though special events may restrict it. The operator does not promise a ferry lot at Bay Ridge and says parking is very limited near most landings, so use the B9, B64, bicycle or walking there.

Yes, while rack space lasts. NYC Ferry boats generally carry about eight to ten bicycles and may stop accepting them when full. This short hop is useful with a bike because both landings sit on the waterfront west of the subway.

Yes. The two landings are consecutive on South Brooklyn's southern extension. Check that the live trip reaches Bay Ridge because some route patterns finish earlier, but there is no scheduled stop between BAT and Bay Ridge when it runs.

NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ranged from 5 to 10 minutes across every row serving both endpoints. That was a dated holiday extension, so use the current departure's paired arrival for another date.

It is not at the station. NYC Ferry places the landing at American Veterans Memorial Pier and lists the R at Bay Ridge Avenue and Fourth Avenue. The B9 and B64 stop nearer Shore Road, so count the walk or bus connection.

The landing is at Pier 4 inside Brooklyn Army Terminal. NYC Ferry lists free public parking plus the B11 at 58th and First Avenue, the B37 at 58th and Third, and the N/R farther east at 59th Street. Plan the internal waterfront walk rather than expecting a curbside train connection.
