Commuter guide

Questions riders ask before this trip

Sunset Park/BAT–Wall Street is a one-seat harbor commute through Red Hook and Atlantic Avenue. The dated holiday table ran 29 to 34 minutes. BAT supplies free parking and a roomy waterfront setting; Pier 11 supplies subway choices and route queues, so the two ends demand different habits.

How early should I arrive for Sunset Park/BAT–Wall Street?

Be at the landing before departure with your ticket ready and confirm that the South Brooklyn trip reaches BAT. Boarding is first-come. At Pier 11, join the qualified route queue; at BAT, leave time to cross the terminal campus to Pier 4.

What does Sunset Park/BAT–Wall Street cost?

The regular NYC Ferry fare is currently $4.50 one way, bought in the app or at a landing machine. Red Hook and Atlantic Avenue are intermediate calls on the same boat. A return trip needs another fare because round trips do not qualify for free transfers.

Can I park at BAT or Pier 11?

BAT is the practical car end. NYC Ferry lists free public parking on Pier 4, subject to event restrictions. Pier 11 has no dependable ferry lot; reach it by downtown subway, bus, bicycle, walking or drop-off.

Can I bring a bicycle between BAT and Wall Street?

Yes, while rack space remains. NYC Ferry vessels generally carry about eight to ten bicycles and may stop accepting them when full. BAT and Pier 11 both connect to waterfront riding, but a full rack can mean waiting for the next extension trip.

What stops are between Sunset Park/BAT and Wall Street?

The one-seat South Brooklyn trip calls at Red Hook/Atlantic Basin and Atlantic Avenue/BBP Pier 6 before Pier 11. Stay aboard at both. In the reverse direction, use Pier 11's printed departure column because a through boat can dwell downtown before continuing to Brooklyn.

How long is the ferry from BAT to Wall Street?

NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ranged from 29 to 34 minutes across every row serving both endpoints. That was a dated holiday extension, so use the live paired arrival for another date.

Which downtown transit is near Pier 11?

NYC Ferry lists the 2/3 at Wall Street, J/Z at Broad Street and 1 at South Ferry, plus several downtown buses. The landing is on the East River esplanade, not inside a station, so include the walk from the subway.

How do I reach transit from Brooklyn Army Terminal?

The B11 stops at 58th and First Avenue, the B37 at 58th and Third, and the N/R is farther east at 59th Street. The ferry landing is on Pier 4, so none is a same-platform transfer.
