Questions riders ask before this trip
East 34th Street–Wall Street on South Brooklyn is the Lower East Side hop hiding inside a Brooklyn route. The boat calls at Corlears Hook, then reaches Pier 11; the Brooklyn stops come after Wall Street if you stay aboard. It is short, useful and easy to mistake for the three other ferries with the same Manhattan endpoints, so let the route qualifier do its job.
How early should I arrive for the South Brooklyn ferry between East 34th and Wall Street?
Arrive before the posted departure with your ticket ready and join the South Brooklyn queue. East 34th and Pier 11 both handle several routes, including four that share these endpoints. Boarding is first-come, so confirm the route name before the line begins moving.

The current regular fare is $4.50 one way, bought in the app or at a landing machine. This is a one-seat trip, so do not activate a transfer at Corlears Hook. If you change routes later, NYC Ferry transfers are free for 120 minutes; the return trip is separate.

Parking is the hard way at both ends. NYC Ferry says it is very limited near most landings and discourages driving. Use the M34 or M15 at East 34th and downtown subway or bus service at Pier 11. If a car is unavoidable, arrange a drop-off rather than counting on curb space.

Yes, subject to the roughly eight-to-ten-bike capacity. Crew can refuse another bicycle when the rack is full, and bikes normally stay outside on the bow. Both landings have bike racks and Citi Bike nearby, which may be simpler than carrying a bike at rush hour.

No. From East 34th, the current sequence is Corlears Hook and then Pier 11. Red Hook, Atlantic Avenue and Governors Island come later on trips that continue beyond Wall Street. Between these two Manhattan landings, stay aboard at Corlears Hook and get off at Pier 11.

Regular timetables usually give this Corlears Hook segment about 17 to 20 minutes. NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable ran it in 16 to 17 minutes during that dated exception. It remains close to Rockaway–Soundview's Manhattan segment and much shorter than the East River loop; use the arrival attached to your exact departure when minutes matter.

Take whichever current departure reaches your destination first. South Brooklyn stops at Corlears Hook; Rockaway–Soundview stops at Stuyvesant Cove. The ride times are similar, but frequency and queue can differ. The East River route is the slower scenic choice through Brooklyn and Queens.

NYC Ferry lists the M34 at East 34th, M15 on First Avenue and 4/6 near 33rd Street. At Pier 11, use the 2/3 near Wall Street, J/Z at Broad Street, 1 at South Ferry or the M15. Add walking time because neither landing sits inside a subway station.
