Questions riders ask before this trip

Atlantic Avenue–St. George is a one-boat harbor crossing with Bay Ridge in the middle. Current weekday and weekend trips take about 28 to 30 minutes. It is especially useful when Brooklyn Bridge Park and the St. George transit hub are the real endpoints, not merely landmarks near them.

How early should I arrive for Atlantic Avenue–St. George?

Be on the pier before departure with your ticket ready. Boarding is first-come. Atlantic Avenue uses Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6; St. George is at 1 Bay Street inside the larger ferry and transit complex. Confirm the St. George route because other services use nearby Brooklyn and Staten Island terminals.

How much is the ferry from Atlantic Avenue to St. George?

The current regular NYC Ferry fare is $4.50 one way. Buy in the app or at a landing machine, then activate before boarding. Bay Ridge is an intermediate call on the same ride, so no second ticket is needed. A return trip needs another fare.

Can I park at Atlantic Avenue or St. George?

St. George is the easier endpoint for a car because NYC Ferry lists paid parking there. Do not count on a ferry lot at Pier 6; NYC Ferry says parking is very limited near most landings and discourages driving. Brooklyn riders are better served by the B61, B63, B57 or the longer walk from the F/G and 4/5.

Can I bring a bicycle between Pier 6 and St. George?

Yes while rack space lasts. NYC Ferry boats generally carry about eight to ten bicycles, and crew may stop accepting bikes when the rack is full. Both Atlantic Avenue and St. George list bike racks, making this a practical harbor link if you arrive early enough for a rack space.

Is Atlantic Avenue–St. George a direct ferry?

Yes when the southern St. George service is running, with Bay Ridge in the middle. Regular weekday and weekend rows take about 28 to 30 minutes. NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable also kept both stops in the same southern block at about 28 to 30 minutes during that dated exception.

Is Atlantic Avenue the DUMBO ferry landing?

No. This boat uses Atlantic Avenue at Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6, near the park's southern end. DUMBO/Fulton Ferry is a different landing farther north. Search for Pier 6 or Atlantic Avenue rather than following signs for Old Fulton Street.

Does this arrive at the free Staten Island Ferry terminal?

It arrives in the St. George complex, but this is the paid NYC Ferry service, not the orange Staten Island Ferry to Whitehall. Check the operator and departure board before joining a queue. The Manhattan endpoints and ticket rules are different.

What transit connects at St. George?

The Staten Island Railway and several buses meet the terminal. NYC Ferry lists the S40, S44, S46, S74, S78, S42 and S52 nearby. Leave time to move through the complex rather than treating the ferry gangway and your bus or train platform as one connection.
