Questions riders ask before this trip
Atlantic Avenue–Bay Ridge is a tidy Brooklyn waterfront link on the St. George route. The stops are consecutive, with current trips taking about 17 to 18 minutes. It works best when Pier 6 and Shore Road are genuinely convenient; both subway walks are longer than the map's ferry line suggests.
How early should I arrive for Atlantic Avenue–Bay Ridge?
Reach the landing before departure with your ticket ready. Boarding is first-come. Atlantic Avenue uses Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6; Bay Ridge uses American Veterans Memorial Pier on Shore Road. Confirm the St. George route before boarding.

The current regular NYC Ferry fare is $4.50 one way, purchased in the app or at a landing machine. The two Brooklyn stops are consecutive, so no transfer or extra fare is needed. The ride back needs another ticket.

Do not assume either landing has ferry parking. NYC Ferry says space is very limited near most docks and discourages driving. Pier 6 has the B61, B63 and B57; Bay Ridge has the B9 and B64 near Shore Road, with the R train inland.

Yes while rack space lasts. NYC Ferry boats generally carry about eight to ten bicycles. Pier 6 lists bike racks and Citi Bike. A bicycle is useful at the Bay Ridge end because American Veterans Memorial Pier is west of the R train.

Yes, with no intermediate stop. Regular weekday and weekend rows take about 17 to 18 minutes. NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable kept both Brooklyn stops in the same southern block and scheduled the same 17-to-18-minute range during that dated exception.

It is on the Brooklyn Bridge Park waterfront, not at Atlantic Terminal. NYC Ferry lists the F/G around Bergen and Smith and the 4/5 around Court and Joralemon, plus buses nearer the pier. Count the final walk.

The pier is at Shore Road; NYC Ferry lists the R at Bay Ridge Avenue and Fourth Avenue. The B9 and B64 stop closer. This can still be a useful trip, but the inland connection belongs in your door-to-door time.

No. The current St. George route runs directly between Atlantic Avenue and Bay Ridge for this segment. Riders headed to Red Hook need a different route or a land connection; do not stay aboard expecting an Atlantic Basin call.
