Questions riders ask before this trip

Battery Park City–St. George is the cleanest west-side hop on the St. George route. The two landings are consecutive, and current weekday and weekend rows take about 20 to 22 minutes. The useful trick is choosing the Vesey Street dock, not one of Lower Manhattan's several other ferry terminals.

How early should I arrive for Battery Park City–St. George?

Reach the landing before departure with an activated ticket ready. Boarding is first-come. Battery Park City is at Battery Park and Vesey Street; St. George is at 1 Bay Street. Confirm NYC Ferry's St. George route rather than a neighboring sightseeing or New Jersey service.

How much is Battery Park City–St. George on NYC Ferry?

The current regular fare is $4.50 each way, bought in the app or at a landing machine. This is one direct ride, so no transfer fare is needed. It is not the free Staten Island Ferry: that service uses Whitehall, not Battery Park City.

Can I park at Battery Park City or St. George?

NYC Ferry lists paid parking at St. George. It does not list ferry parking at Battery Park City, and its systemwide advice says parking is very limited near most landings. Use the 1, E, N/R/W, 2/3, 4/5, M22 or nearby SIM buses for the Vesey Street side when possible.

Can I take a bicycle from Battery Park City to Staten Island?

Yes if the onboard rack still has space. NYC Ferry says vessels generally hold about eight to ten bicycles. St. George lists bike racks, while Battery Park City lists Citi Bike docks at River Terrace and Warren Street and at Vesey Place and River Terrace.

Is Battery Park City–St. George direct?

Yes on the regular through pattern, with no intermediate call and about 20 to 22 minutes aboard. In NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot PDF, the one continuous six-stop table toward Midtown kept St. George and Battery Park City on one boat, with a 20-minute ride. The Wall Street-bound side printed separate blocks, so the PDF did not promise the same one-seat trip in the opposite direction during that dated exception.

Which Battery Park ferry dock do I need?

Use NYC Ferry's Battery Park City landing at Battery Park and Vesey Street. Do not follow signs for the Statue of Liberty boats at The Battery or for Pier 11 on the East River. The route page names Vesey Street and lists nearby transit.

Why not take the free Staten Island Ferry?

Choose by Manhattan destination. The free ferry runs between St. George and Whitehall on Manhattan's southern tip. This paid NYC Ferry lands on the Hudson side at Vesey Street, which can save a cross-downtown trip for Battery Park City and World Trade Center destinations.

How do I connect at St. George?

The terminal connects with the Staten Island Railway and several local buses. Paid parking, restaurants, restrooms and covered waiting are also listed there. Build in walking time inside the complex, especially if your onward bus or train is the part of the trip you cannot miss.
