Questions riders ask before this trip
Battery Park City–Midtown West is the St. George route's short Hudson-side segment. Current tables span 12 to 15 minutes: about 15 minutes southbound and 12 minutes northbound. Pier 79's shuttle and far-west access usually matter more than those three minutes.
How early should I arrive for Battery Park City–Midtown West?
Reach the landing before departure with your ticket ready. Boarding is first-come. Battery Park City is at Vesey Street; Midtown West is Pier 79 on 12th Avenue. Confirm the St. George route because both waterfronts host other ferry operators or services.

The current regular NYC Ferry fare is $4.50 one way, bought in the app or at a landing machine. The two stops are consecutive and need no transfer. A trip back requires another fare; subway and bus connections are separate.

Neither landing should be treated as a ferry-parking destination. NYC Ferry says parking is very limited near most docks. Vesey Street has several subway and bus options; Pier 79 has the M42, M12, a 7 train walk and the free Midtown shuttle.

Yes while rack space lasts. NYC Ferry vessels generally accommodate about eight to ten bicycles. Both neighborhoods list nearby Citi Bike docks, but an onboard space is first-come and cannot be assumed during busy periods.

Yes. The stops are consecutive. Regular weekday and weekend tables show about 15 minutes from Midtown West to Battery Park City and about 12 minutes back. NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable kept both stops together in the Manhattan block, with the same 12-to-15-minute range during that dated exception.

The 7 is inland at 11th Avenue and Hudson Boulevard East while the pier is on 12th Avenue. NYC Ferry also lists the M42 and M12. Count the final westward walk rather than treating the train and ferry as a shared terminal.

Yes. NYC Ferry says the Midtown shuttle runs about every 10 minutes at peak and about every 20 minutes off-peak and on weekends. Check the linked shuttle route and build in waiting time.

The Battery Park City landing at Battery Park and Vesey Street. It is not the Statue of Liberty departure area and not Pier 11. The exact landing name matters when walking from the subway or arranging a pickup.
