Questions riders ask before this trip

Battery Park City–Bay Ridge is a one-boat harbor diagonal with St. George in the middle. Current weekday and weekend trips take about 32 to 33 minutes. It is an appealing direct waterfront connection when Vesey Street and Shore Road fit, but neither endpoint is the neighborhood's main subway hub.

How early should I arrive for Battery Park City–Bay Ridge?

Be at the landing before departure with your ticket ready. Boarding is first-come. Use Battery Park and Vesey Street in Manhattan and American Veterans Memorial Pier in Bay Ridge. Confirm the St. George route and direction.

How much is Battery Park City–Bay Ridge?

The current regular NYC Ferry fare is $4.50 one way, purchased in the app or at a landing machine. St. George is an intermediate call on the same ride, so no second ticket is needed. A return requires another fare.

Can I park at Battery Park City or Bay Ridge?

Do not expect dedicated ferry parking at either landing. NYC Ferry says parking is very limited near most docks. Use Lower Manhattan transit for Vesey Street; at Bay Ridge, the B9 and B64 run nearer Shore Road while the R train is inland.

Can I bring a bicycle from Battery Park City to Bay Ridge?

Yes if the rack has space. NYC Ferry boats generally carry about eight to ten bicycles. A bike can solve the Bay Ridge pier's inland transit gap, but onboard rack space is first-come and may fill.

Is Battery Park City–Bay Ridge direct?

It is one boat on the regular through pattern, with St. George in between, and takes about 32 to 33 minutes. In NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot PDF, the one continuous six-stop table toward Midtown kept Bay Ridge through to Battery Park City on one boat, taking 32 minutes. The Wall Street-bound side printed separate blocks, so it did not promise the reverse one-seat trip during that dated exception.

Does the ferry use the Statue of Liberty dock?

No. NYC Ferry's Battery Park City landing is at Vesey Street. Statue and Ellis Island boats use a different departure area farther south. Follow the exact operator and landing name.

How close is the Bay Ridge pier to the subway?

The R train is at Bay Ridge Avenue and Fourth Avenue, inland from American Veterans Memorial Pier on Shore Road. NYC Ferry lists the B9 and B64 closer to the waterfront. Include that connection in your total time.

Can I get off at St. George and continue later?

You can leave the boat, but that ends this one-seat trip. A later sailing is a separate boarding subject to the ticket and transfer rules. Stay aboard if Bay Ridge is your destination; leave only if you actually need the St. George terminal or Staten Island transit.
