Questions riders ask before this trip
St. George–Wall Street is the paid NYC Ferry route into Pier 11, not the free orange boat to Whitehall. It calls at Bay Ridge and Atlantic Avenue and takes about 32 to 37 minutes across current weekday and weekend rows. The right choice depends on which downtown waterfront you actually need.
How early should I arrive for St. George–Wall Street?
Be at the landing before departure with an activated ticket ready. Boarding is first-come. At St. George, follow signs for NYC Ferry rather than assuming every queue goes to the same Manhattan terminal. At Pier 11, use the signed St. George-route queue.

No. The current regular NYC Ferry fare is $4.50 one way, bought in the app or at a machine. Bay Ridge and Atlantic Avenue remain part of one ride. The free Staten Island Ferry goes to Whitehall instead, under different ticket rules.

NYC Ferry lists paid parking at St. George. Do not drive to Pier 11 expecting a ferry lot; NYC Ferry says parking is very limited near most landings. Downtown subway, bus, bicycle and walking connections are usually the better plan on the Manhattan side.

Yes while the onboard rack has space. NYC Ferry boats generally accommodate about eight to ten bicycles, and crew can stop accepting them when full. Both St. George and Pier 11 list bike racks; Pier 11 also has nearby Citi Bike stations.

It is one boat with Bay Ridge and Atlantic Avenue in between. Regular weekday and weekend rows span about 32 to 37 minutes. NYC Ferry's September 28 through October 2, 2026 Sukkot timetable kept the same four-stop southern block at about 32 to 37 minutes during that dated exception.

The free ferry runs nonstop between St. George and Whitehall. This paid NYC Ferry makes two Brooklyn calls and lands at Pier 11 on the East River side. Compare the final walk and departure time; the free fare is not automatically the faster door-to-door trip.

Yes when the connection fits the ticket window. NYC Ferry says transfers within its system are free for 120 minutes after activation. Check the onward route and queue before boarding because Pier 11 serves several lines and a missed connection can mean a long wait.

NYC Ferry lists the 2/3 near Wall Street, J/Z near Broad Street and 1 near South Ferry, plus several buses. None is directly on the gangway. Leave time for the waterfront walk and for finding the right route queue on the return trip.
